Cinevate Pimps Up The Canon XF300/305
Cinevate just posted a great video of an outfitted Canon XF300/305 that should have the Canon fanboys drooling. In the video, Cinevate’s Dennis Wood “pimps up” the new XF300/305 professional camcorder with various Cinevate products such as the Durus Follow Focus, Titan Matte Box, Proteus Rails System and a Shoulder Mount with Counterbalance. This setup turns the camcorder into a more “cinema-friendly” camera and with the camcorder’s new 50Mb/s, 4:2:2 codec, the recorded images should also give you a little more leeway in post. Because of the codec and the high quality of the Canon 18x lens, the BBC has recently approved the XF300/305’s for use on independently shot projects.
The highlight of the video shows Wood singlehandedly pulling off a difficult greenscreen dolly move on one of Cinevate’s employees. He simultaneously pulls focus while moving the camcorder on Cinevate’s Atlas 200 camera slider.
Great shot Dennis!
